In October 2017, Indian jewelry firm Tara Jewels acquired a 49 per cent stake in Bevilles, four years after forming a “strategic alliance” with the Australian jewelry retailer. The concept was trialled for 18 months, starting in 5 Queensland stores in 2013 beneath the Captured Moments brand. After receiving “encouraging results”, the corporate opened its first Emma & Roe concept retailer in Mackay, Queensland, in April 2014.
At the time of publication Beville’s present store rely is 26, being positioned in three states – Victoria, NSW, and South Australia. In December 2015, the chain opened a model new Melbourne CBD store, having exited the Bourke Street Mall in 2011 where it had been positioned for more than a decade. When the lease fell due Bevilles was ‘outbid’ by Swarosvki for the ‘flagship’ location.
